Nominated for scant major television awards in its first few seasons, Gilmore Girls is nevertheless a major among TV viewers. Setting the critics aside, fans of the show have Gilmore Girls one of the top original series in WB network history. Set in the fictional town of Stars Hollow, Connecticut, the show follows the lives of former-teenage mother Lorelai Gilmore (Lauren Graham) and her now teenage daughter Rory (Alexis Bledel). Friends as well as immediate relatives, the two grapple with various aspects of their lives together as Lorelai fights to keep her daughter from repeated the mistakes of her own past. Created in the mold of a soap opera, Gilmore Girls is a dramatic series written in the tone of Dawsons Creek, but with more a family twist to its subject matter. Overall, its a fascinating show

The Gilmore Girls (Season 3) DVD features a number of touching episodes including the season premiere Those Lazy-Hazy-Crazy Days in which everyones relationship is a source for debate. Rory and Lorelai discuss the merits of Jess versus Dean, while Lorelais parents debate her relationship with Christopher. Meanwhile, Sookie and Jackson argue over the proper way to decorate their house Other notable episodes from Season 3 include A Deep-Fried Korean Thanksgiving in which Lorelai and Rory eat four different Thanksgiving dinners (including a tofu turkey!), and Happy Birthday, Baby in which Lorelais parents are ecstatic to learn of Rorys decision to attend Yale, but Emily is angry with Richard when Lorelai pays off their loan because she thinks it will mean the end of her relationship with Lorelai and Rory
