Before we talk about that, what exactly does WOW involve? Orcs or the noble humans and battle for the survival and domination. During game play you will construct and rule your own medieval strong hold and play two dozen campaign scenarios with two separate story lines, command many creatures including Demons, Elementals, Necromancers, Archers and many more. Warcraft is a fine, fine game on its own.
Wow is just a game "period" I play, I lead a guild of more than 200 people. We have fun we achieve and we are mostly normal. WoW players have been somewhat spoiled by the relatively high standard of connectivity and stability, with many players initially heralding WoW as the first MMO to be released to the public in non-beta form. Yet as the number of subscribers has sky-rocketed so the number of technical issues have also risen. So many people play this game!
So should you consider picking up a quest guide? Some people feel pretty strongly that you should find everything out on your own, that a quest guide is "cheating". I disagree. Even though there certainly is fun in doing everything without a guide, for people that have limited time and want to cut right to the chase, a quest guide may be a smart investment.
Of course all quest guides are not automatically worth your time, though a few are certainly worthwhile considering. Just make sure you understand what you are getting into.
