We can all agree on something here. Getting Pwnd sucks. And seeing your stats suffer for it is sad. If you are like me every time you get out on Xbox Live you get destroyed. You wonder, Do these people do nothing but play this game day in and day out?
Even after you have played for a few days with little sleep and a lot of red bull in your system, you dont feel like you are getting any better.
I thought this would be a perfect chance to look up some different strategies to see if I could level the playing field. I have taken some time to play, and get owned over and over again. And then I found some strategies that would help me take back my pride.
While there are a few glitches out there; there are no secret Halo 3 cheats that put those little 12 year old jerks in their place, but here are some winning strategies that will at least make them whine to there moms that you must be cheating.
This article barely even scratches the surface of what is out there. There are entire sites that are dedicated to everything from how Bungies stat system works to specific strategies in every map, and game in Halo 3. These are some general ideas to keep you alive and Pwning like the Master Chief himself.
Moving Targets Live Longer
Strafing long and short distances to the left and right will keep anyone who is scoping you out for a kill harder to hit. Ducking or crouching as you come closer to an opponent can be the difference between handing you opponent your head or a live grenade. This strategy is only recommended for close combat. Jumping is not only a great way to stay a moving target, but can get you out of many hairy situations.
The more you move around the harder of a target you become. By mixing all of these together you can quickly become that sneaky guy that no one can hit.
Get into your Groove
If exercise without warming up, you are gonna hurt the next day. The same is going to happen in Halo 3. You will hurt, and hurt bad. Go into a local map, run around and stretch your battle legs a bit before you take off into the night.
Safety in Numbers
Finding big matches is a good way to boost your chance of gaining experience and achieve better stats. The more targets you have the more opportunities you have to get kills. In relation, in a smaller match you have to work harder to get kill points.
Patience is a Virtue
Ever feel like there is a bulls-eye on your head? In any match people run to central locations that will give them an advantage. If you show up first it is free game for the other players to take you out. Instead, wait a few seconds, and when you get to where the action is you can walk into a buffet of kills. Timing is crucial, so use it to your advantage.
The Dots are Bad
Watch your radar! When you are crouching, not moving, or walking slowly, you do not show up on enemy radar. Use in areas of high population.
After testing these out myself for a few hours I noticed the time between my deaths were getting much longer and I felt much more comfortable in the game. My kill count was higher, and I heard the wonderful sound of angry 12 year olds cursing my name.
