Ryan Cabrera was born and raised in Dallas, Texas and at a young age became infatuated with playing guitar. His infatuation inspired him to create his own punk band in high school named Cain which ultimately changed once he was introduced to the music and lyrics of Dave Matthews. Upon hearing Daves style, it was as if he matured artistically overnight. He immediately traded in his electric guitar for an acoustic one and created a new group named Rubix Groove.

Ryans brother, Marc was instrumental in assisting Rubix Grooves success and ensured that they performed with celebrated artists like Cheap Trick and Third Eye Blind. It was his determination and Ryans talent which eventually led to the creation of Elm St., Ryan's first independent album in 2001.

It wasnt long before Joe Simpson scooped him up and introduced Ryan to singer, songwriter Curt Frasca in late 2003 along with Sabelle Breer. They paired Ryan with John Rzeznick of the Goo Goo Dolls and after collaborating with him and former Robbie Williams collaborator Guy Chambers, he released his first major album, Take It All Away. The album was a hit and debuted at number eight on the Billboard 200 album chart in August 2004.

His catchy, up-tempo pop-rock single, On the Way Down peaked at number 15 on the Billboard Hot 100 singles chart and number seven on the Billboard Top 40 Mainstream, Ryan had successfully created a faithful fan base. His second album, You Stand Watching was released in September 2005 and it included his singles, Shine On and Photo.

Following his great success, he released True, and his third single, 40 Kinds of Sadness which was on the top 40 airplay within weeks of release.

Though Ryan croons about emotional loss and heartbreak, it is as if Ryan can find the silver lining lyrically, which interestingly enough makes his songs and lyrics that much more authentic and heart-felt. Cabreras voice is unmatched vocally and we, at Young Hollywood think that he deserves the girl to match his talent. Anyone?
